Fernando "Please ignore this thread if you are not looking for God. This thread is for seekers, and for those who have found God to share their insights and experience."
This request covers a wide range of people, including, Muslims, Buddhists, and people who have not yet settled on a denomination.
The people of the Old Testament did not have a personal relationship with God but thought the priesthood, and people like Moses. The early Christians did indeed have a relationship with Christ, as he walked among them. And they believed that Christ/God personally talked to them after his death.
As God cannot be literally seen or found by humans, we are left with the choice of either looking for clues, evidence, testimony, or waiting for personal revelation. The other choice is to get on with our live, knowing that if there is a God who requires something from us he/she will make them self know. After all the Bible states that God chooses us not the other way round.
All the people on this board have at some time spent a fair portion of their life looking for God. Even when they rail against the contradictions of believers, they are still seeking answers. We are all at some level seeking answers. Even for those that do not at present believe, God's existance remains a possibility; what is lacking is evidence.
Some have taken time out to concentrate on carnal matters. Others have faith that God god has noticed them. My point is that whatever denomination one has presently adopted, be it an eastern or western persuasion, or whatever view we presently hold, we are all seekers of truth. Whether our conclusions will lead to finding evidence of God's existence during our short lifetime is another matter. You yourself have many unanswered questions and only a partial understanding of what you are seeking. I hope you find it.
